When Someone Says "I Just Don't Believe That Stuff": A Journey of Knowledge, Energy, and Respect

Understanding and Respecting Beliefs Beyond the Surface

It happened again. The words landed with a familiar sting:

"I just don't believe that stuff."

Each time I hear this, it feels like a subtle dismissal of the years I've dedicated to studying Vastu, Vedic Astrology, Shamanism, Energy Healing, and Intentional Creativity. Initially, my heart sinks—not because someone holds different beliefs, but because the journey, effort, and transformation these practices represent seem overlooked.

The Weight of Dismissal

Imagine pouring your heart into creating a masterpiece—your life's work filled with meaning and personal truth. Then, someone casually says, "I don't get it." They're not intentionally dismissive; they simply don't understand the depth behind it. That's how it feels when someone says they don't believe in the practices I've devoted my life to. It's not merely a difference of opinion; it's a dismissal of deeply meaningful experiences.

When someone adds, "We just have different beliefs," it can inadvertently imply their perspective is somehow more valid or grounded, causing feelings of invisibility around the wisdom I've worked hard to gain through Intentional Creativity and Medicine Painting.

Understanding the Misunderstanding

I recognize where this comes from. Often, dismissing something unfamiliar arises from limited exposure or uncertainty—not intentional judgment. Labeling unfamiliar things as mere "beliefs" or "stuff" is easier than genuinely engaging with them.

Yet, these dismissals question not just my beliefs but also the validity of an extensive, transformative journey—years spent studying, researching, and experiencing profound personal growth.

Intentional Creativity and Medicine Painting

Intentional Creativity is not just about art—it's a powerful practice deeply rooted in self-exploration. Medicine Painting, a part of this practice, uses creativity to process emotions, thoughts, and experiences. It's about connecting mind, body, and spirit through conscious creation, inspiring profound personal transformation.

These practices aren't superficial. They're a bridge between conscious and subconscious realms, a profound language of personal transformation.

It's a powerful tool I've use for myself and share with others others, and it's at the very core of my work.

Medicine Painting is one of the foundational elements of my artistic practice. It's a method of painting that channels healing energy into the canvas, allowing deep emotions, thoughts, and experiences to be explored and transformed through color, shape, and symbol. This isn't just about making beautiful art. It's a spiritual practice that allows me to engage with my inner landscape profoundly and therapeutically.

When someone says they don't believe in these practices, they don't realize that Intentional Creativity—medicine Painting—is deeply rooted in a profound understanding of the body, mind, and spirit. It's not just "stuff." It's a language of transformation—one that bridges the gap between the conscious and subconscious, between the body and the soul.

Science and the Universe of Energy

I intend not to convince anyone to 'believe' in these practices. They are not whimsical or abstract; they are firmly grounded in ancient wisdom supported by modern science. For instance, Vastu aligns spaces with Earth's magnetic fields, influencing physical and emotional well-being—a concept validated by scientific research into how environments shape us.

Einstein, Newton, and other scientists have illustrated that everything is energy—from atoms within our bodies to planetary movements. Ancient practices like Vastu and Vedic Astrology arose from careful observation and understanding of these energy dynamics.

The difference? They understood something still being studied today: our environments shape us.

The way we align our spaces and interact with energy—whether that's through the elements of nature, our thoughts, or our emotions—matters.

The scientific community recognizes the importance of these forces. Our bodies are sensitive to them, and our health, relationships, and success are all influenced by the energy we invite into our lives.

Energy Healing: More Than "Woo-Woo"

Energy healing addresses imbalances that affect emotional, mental, and physical health. Modern science, including quantum physics and neuroscience, supports these principles, demonstrating that our thoughts and environments significantly influence our health. Energy healing isn't magic; it's scientifically recognized energy dynamics.

Speaking of woo-woo.

I genuinely dislike the term "woo-woo." It’s dismissive and insulting, equating ancient, deeply studied practices with pseudo-science or ineffectiveness. Labeling something as "woo-woo" trivializes traditions that have been carefully preserved and practiced for thousands of years. These ancient systems carry profound insights into human nature, health, and spirituality. Rather than dismissing them, we could benefit from acknowledging the extensive history, ongoing study, and genuine transformative potential these practices hold.

Respecting Differences and Learning

So when someone tells me, "I don't believe that stuff," or "We just have different beliefs," I understand. I get it. Not everyone has been exposed to the vast universe of knowledge and experience I've had the privilege of exploring. And that's okay. We are all on our journeys, and sometimes, we need to allow others to be where they are, just as I need to respect where they are in their own process.

However, it's important to recognize that when we dismiss another person's beliefs or experiences, we miss an opportunity to learn and grow. Dismissing someone's truth doesn't invalidate their journey; it simply closes the door to understanding.

What I'm sharing with you is not just a belief system; it's a body of knowledge that has stood the test of time, honed over millennia by sages and scientists alike. The knowledge has been passed down through generations, and I hold it dear because I've experienced its transformative power in my own life.

Embracing Openness and Growth

When someone says they don't believe in my practices, I understand. We each have our journey shaped by our unique experiences and exposures. However, dismissing others' experiences closes valuable opportunities for mutual growth and understanding. Recognizing that differing beliefs don't invalidate another's path is crucial.

I offer my knowledge and experiences as opportunities—not obligations. My intention is to open doors, not push anyone through them.

To those who don't resonate with these practices, I respect and honor your path as deeply as mine. The universe is vast enough for all our beliefs and experiences to coexist without dismissal or judgment.

Ultimately, this is not about beliefs—it's about experiences.

The truth is that energy is everywhere. It flows through us, around us, and shapes us in ways we are only beginning to understand. It's not about belief—it's about experience. And that, my friend, is something that goes far beyond any one person's understanding.
